Principal's Message

Hello and welcome!

Thank you for your interest in learning more about our school. Betsy Ross Elementary School is one of three elementary schools in Mahwah, serving approximately 230 students from kindergarten through grade three.

I am honored and thrilled to serve as the Principal of Betsy Ross, a school with a tradition of excellence and a history of achievement. We are dedicated to nurturing the growth of primary-age children through enriching and engaging learning experiences. Our teachers and staff are committed to creating positive learning environments that encourage discovery, foster academic success, and promote active parental involvement.

At the core of our curriculum are literacy, numeracy, inquiry, and character education. We tailor our instructional methods to meet the needs of each student, utilizing large group, small group, and individual interactions to support developmentally appropriate growth.

Guided by the Responsive Classroom philosophy, we prioritize a strong, safe school community to support both social and emotional development alongside academic learning. At Betsy Ross, every child is given the tools they need to thrive and succeed.
