Principal's Message

Dear Current and Prospective Betsy Ross Families, 

Hello and welcome! Thank you for your interest in learning more about our school. Betsy Ross, serving approximately 220 students, is one of three kindergarten through third-grade elementary schools in Mahwah. 

I am honored and thrilled to serve as the Principal of Betsy Ross, a school with a tradition of excellence and a history of achievement. We are dedicated to nurturing the growth of our students through enriching, engaging, and differentiated learning experiences. Our teachers and staff are dedicated to creating positive learning environments that encourage discovery, promote academic success, and foster active parental involvement.

At our core are literacy, numeracy, inquiry, and character education. We tailor our instructional methods to meet the needs of each student, utilizing large group, small group, and individual interactions to support developmentally appropriate growth.

Guided by the Responsive Classroom philosophy, we prioritize a strong, safe school community to support both social and emotional development alongside academic learning. At Betsy Ross, every child is given the tools they need to thrive and succeed.
